1st and 2nd Curriculum
In First and Second Grade, the students learn about routine and becoming role models for younger students. Each day begins at 8:30 a.m. and ends at 3:30 p.m. Science, Social Studies, and Religion are taught combined; while Reading and Mathematics are taught independently to each grade level. The students participate in Music, Computer Lab, and Gym two times a week and Art and Library once a week. There are daily devotions and prayer time. The children sing once a month in church and also are part of a special Christmas Service and Spring Musical. Chapel is each Wednesday for ½ hour.
The First and Second Grade classes have been on fieldtrips to the Paper Discovery Center, Weis Museum, Oshkosh Public Museum, EAA, Heckrodt Nature Preserve, ThedaKids at Theda Clark Medical Center, the Appleton Performing Arts Center, and the Oshkosh Grand Opera House. These hands-on experiences help the students to learn about the world around them. There are also service projects offered monthly which organizes our students in multi-graded groups.
